Put AI into the workflow

Reading ·

An AI subscription still leaves your team with a job to do. OpenAI’s December report examines how companies put that access to work. It combines customer usage data with a survey of 9,000 workers across almost 100 enterprises.

OpenAI describes several habits among firms that use its tools more often. They connect company records, share repeatable ways to do common tasks, and test results against the work. They also train people and give someone responsibility for adoption. The findings describe OpenAI customers, and workers report their own gains.

Our takeaway is to pick a job you can follow from request to result. We’d write down the records it needs, who checks the answer, and where a person approves a change. Those decisions give the team something concrete to test.

So try it on work the team has already completed and compare the results. A quick answer doesn’t count for much if someone has to rebuild it. The test is whether the next person can repeat the job.
